On the feast of the Sacred Heart, Friday 7th June, we held a wonderful music evening to raise funds for a new pipe organ.

Parishioners brought along a variety of dishes for a fantastic supper, and then settled down to hear the parish talent perform.

The young people really showed their musical skills, with a number of excellent numbers on violin, brass and piano.

There were poetry recitals and sing-alongs which raised the roof!

There was a great turnout spanning four generations of parishioners, and nearly £800 raised.

The next fundraising evening will take place on the Feast of St Aloysius, Friday 21 June at 7pm.  The Scots tenor Martin Aelred will open his new tour, ‘An Evening in Tuscany’, singing the songs of Andrea Bocelli in the beautiful church.  Tickets are available after Sunday Masses, on the door or from http://sacredheartaelred.eventbrite.co.uk
