Celebrating St Ignatius in Lahore
We had three days of celebrations at Loyola Hall, the Jesuit centre in Lahore, for the feast of St Ignatius of Loyola. On Saturday night, the religious of the Archdiocese were invited for Mass, celebrated by Fr Renato, the Jesuit Mission Superior, with the homily from Fr Imran, followed by a buffet meal in the garden. There were songs and games:
There was cake!
And at the end of the evening, everybody went home tired and happy!
On Sunday evening, the MAGIS youth group and their families were invited.
Once more there were songs, sketches, games – and dancing, in which Fr Imran played a leading role!
And on Monday night, the Jesuit community and candidates celebrated Mass together in the small community chapel, and then His Grace the Archbishop of Lahore, Sebastian Francis Shaw OFM, graciously joined us for dinner.
The following morning, Fr Michael Holman and I began our journey home, travelling to Rawalpindi to stay overnight with the Presentation Sisters, before getting our flight from Islamabad the next morning.
